How the session works

Most Reviews are a 45-minute live session with a senior engineer, followed by your written action plan.

Need a different format? Some reviews work better as an offline assessment followed by a shorter call to walk through the report. You pick your format when you book. Need to switch? Reply to your confirmation within 24 hours. We'll confirm the format in writing before any work starts. The session time is still 45 minutes, your written plan is prepared separately, and the $99 price stays the same. If we can't agree on a format, you can keep the live session or choose a full refund.

What we look at

Security basics

Sign-ins, passwords, and devices: the simple things that matter most.

Microsoft licenses

Are you paying for the right licenses, and only the ones you use?

Internet and phone bills

A fresh look at what you pay, and whether there's a better fit.

Email

Is your email set up properly, reliable, and protected?

Wi-Fi

Coverage, speed, and whether guests and staff are kept separate.

Backups

Are your files actually backed up, and could you get them back?

The Continuity Review

If everything stopped tomorrow, could you start over?

We walk through what your business runs on: your files, email, accounts, and key software. Together we check what would be easy to get back and what wouldn't.

You'll know where you stand and what would make your business more resilient.

Technology Review: written action plan

Prepared for: Sample Street Bakery & Café (fictional) · Session: live, 45 minutes · Plan sent within 3 business days

1. Summary

Your setup covers the basics, and a few small changes will make sign-ins safer and day-to-day work smoother. Most of the items below are things your team can do in-house. We put them in the order we'd tackle them.

2. What you asked us about

  • Is our ordering account set up the way it should be?
  • Who controls our website and domain name?
  • If our files were lost, how would we get them back?

3. What's already working well

  • Email runs on Microsoft 365, and the owner's account already uses MFA.
  • Shared files are kept in the cloud rather than on one computer.
  • The point-of-sale system gets updates automatically.

4. What we found

  • Sign-ins: two team members use one login for the online ordering account. Giving each person their own sign-in, with MFA turned on, is an easy next step that makes it clear who did what and keeps things simple when staff change.
  • Admin access: the domain is registered to a personal account from when the website was first built. Moving it to an account the business controls means you always hold your own keys.
  • Wi-Fi: guests and the point-of-sale system share one network. A separate guest network keeps the two apart.
  • Backups: files already sync to the cloud, which is a strong start. The next step is a quick practice restore, so the team knows exactly how getting a file back works.
  • Microsoft licenses: one license is still assigned to someone who no longer works at the bakery. Reassigning or removing it is a chance to save.

5. Continuity check

We walked through what the business runs on: its files, email, accounts, and key software. Together we checked what would be easy to get back and what wouldn't. Email and shared files are in good shape. The domain account and a practice file restore are the next steps that make the business more resilient.

6. Your priority order

  1. This week: give each person their own ordering-account sign-in and turn on MFA.
  2. This week: reassign or remove the unused Microsoft license.
  3. This month: set up a separate guest Wi-Fi network.
  4. This month: restore one test folder from the cloud and note the steps.
  5. This quarter: move the domain name to an account the business owns.

7. Next steps

You can run this plan yourself, or ask us to quote any item. Fixes are quoted separately, and nothing starts until you approve it. Questions about the plan during your 30 days of priority access go to [email protected].

This is a fictional example to show the format. Your plan is written from your own session, so its sections and findings will differ.

Where it can lead

Technology Review→Projects→Managed IT

The Review is a one-time session, not unlimited support. If you'd like help with anything in your action plan, we'll quote that work separately.

Some clients start with a project and later choose managed IT services, starting at $299/month. It's your call at every step.

Frequently asked questions

Is the 45 minutes the meeting or the work?

It's the meeting. Usually it's a live 45-minute session. If you choose the offline format when you book, it's offline review time plus a shorter call. Either way, the session time is 45 minutes. We prepare your written plan separately, on top of that.

What's included?

A review of the concerns you bring, immediate risks explained in plain language, a written action plan in priority order, savings opportunities, and 30 days of priority access.

When do I get my written plan?

Within 3 business days after your session. If we agree on an offline format, it's within 3 business days after we receive the materials we agreed on.

How does priority access work?

It starts on your session date and lasts 30 days. Email short questions about your plan to [email protected], and we'll handle them ahead of our standard queue. There's no guaranteed response time, and new work is quoted separately.

How do I schedule, reschedule, or cancel?

Once your payment is confirmed, your confirmation page shows a booking link where you pick your format and session time. You can reschedule for free with at least 24 hours' notice before your scheduled session. Cancel at least 24 hours before it for a full refund. If you miss the session without notice, or cancel less than 24 hours before it, the session is used, but we'll offer you one free reschedule.

Can you review something specialized, like an app or a database?

Yes, if it fits in 45 minutes. We'll confirm the specific areas and materials in writing before we start. It's a point-in-time opinion based on what you provide, not a full audit, penetration test, or guarantee.

What if I need fixes or a follow-up review?

Anything beyond the Review is quoted separately, and nothing starts until you approve it.

Is there a contract?

No ongoing contract. The Review is a one-time purchase covered by our Technology Review Terms.
